2025-12-22 05:48:23 +0000 UTCSo they're actually both in the pride ring which is the top most ring, but I.M.P is based in imp city while the Hazbin Hotel is in Pentagram City. The main difference between the shows is that HB deals more with hellborns while HH obviously focuses on sinners, and because HB deals with hellborns that means they aren't confined to the pride ring like sinners are

Regarding the rings, no, both shows (mostly) take place in the Pride Ring, because sinners can't go to any other ring, and both Hazbin Hotel's and IMP's business depends on sinners.

Also, beating a half dead horse, kinda, this is the original pilot, which has been replaced by the episode Mission Zero (one of my personal favourites, Stolas was drawn with only one hand on the table iykyk) when Amazon decided to pick it up as well, so I do recommend checking it out (available on YouTube) before continuing with the rest of the show, I am so excited to see your reaction to Bryce's (Stolas) voice in the show proper Keep the good work, you're doing great, super excited for She-Ra next too.

2025-12-09 20:40:29 +0000 UTCI think the vibe for Helluva Boss definitely changes from the pilot to the actual series, more and more as it goes on lmao couple of little things: - what you watched is the original pilot/pitch for the show, and is no longer considered canon. some of the lore and characterizations are outdated, and several voice actors (most noteably Millie and Stolas) were replaced starting with episode 1 of season 1. - when the show was taken on by amazon, they created a new "pilot"/episode 0 introductory episode called "Mission Zero", which might be a good thing to watch before you get into episode 1, as it does a better job of representing the show, and also gives some exposition on imps as a whole, since Hazbin doesn't really focus on hellborn much. - regarding subtitles: later helluva episodes are pretty well captioned, but Idon't actually remember at what episode that starts. If you want the subbed episodes, then you might want to watch on prime. Prime versions of the episodes also have small animation updates, such as fixing little errors, smoothing out the framerate in one or two season 1 episodes, and adjusting early character models to be more consistent. - if you do watch on amazon, then by the time you get to season 2 you might want to check in with someone who's seen the whole show because there are some shorts and a music video that take place in-between episodes, that amazon didn't carry over from youtube, but that's far off for now and someone will probably point it out to you when the time comes.

It's intended to be a replacement for the pilot, and sets up points of lore that weren't very well explained inside the show before while also showing the sharp increase of quality you can expect from later Helluva Boss episodes. It absolutely better establishes the characters as they are in canon too.

I gotta say, the music is much better in Hazbin, but the story and characters are just better in Helluva, though it takes a minute. Actually it's probably because it takes a minute. Helluva has time to breath while Hazbin only gets 8 episodes

I’m not sure you’ll enjoy it quite as much as hazbin, but I think the characters across the two seasons we have so far of Helluva Boss (even though this pilot does NOT make it seem like it ) are better than any of the characters we get in Hazbin. As a musical theater kid at heart i should like Hazbin more on principle, but something about Helluva Boss just hits different. I can’t wait to see what you think! (Also the chaotic energy IS very funny lol, but rest!)

Thanks so much for this reaction - I'm watching it the morning of a final exam, and it really helped me relax. <3 As with Hazbin, the pilot for HB is very chaotic ,but the show itself is...still full of chaos, but presented at a more digestible pace. I think you'll really enjoy this series once it kicks into gear! There are definitely a lot of moments that can make a Hazbin fan pause and wonder "how does this affect Charlie & the gang?". I'd love to see some Helluva/Hazbin crossover episodes in the future - I'm rooting for at least a brief Lucifer appearance! :)

I like Helluva Boss a lot and this pilot is... not a great indicator for what the actual show is like, especially in Season 2. And I like Season 2 *sooo* much better than Season 1.

The OG is fun and the new one is basically copy past but updated graphics and some slight visual differences. There is one whole new scene but the gist is the same. Have so much fun!

Also, I'm not sure if others have mentioned it since I didn't read the comments, but there are several voice changes from the pilot and the real episodes. Millie's is the most jarring but I've come to really like it. I'm pretty sure Stolas' VA changed too, but I love his voice in the real episodes too.

I know the captions are correct on the prime version and I know at SOME point on the YouTube versions get captions. , BUT. I don't remember where. You may want to see Mission Zero. As that's closer to the actual tone of the show as it exists now? And episode 1 is also a touch better than this.

2025-12-09 05:59:25 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure the main reason IMP isn't mentioned in Hazbin is that at the time of writing the first two seasons of both shows, Hazbin was on Amazon and Helluva was still completely on YouTube. When it was announced that Helluva was going to Amazon, they made a whole trailer about how they can do crossovers now. We did see a few references to Helluva characters in season 2 of Hazbin though!

It's non canon from the main series now, but some of it is "pulled into the actual show". ALSO SEVERAL VOICE ACTORS CHANGED FOR THE ACTUAL SHOW including Stolas and Millie! The og pilot is still fun to watch though! They "remade" the Pilot into a canon version called "Mission: 0", its on Prime. Helluva boss does delve into the other rings of hell, but a lot of the business stuff (and by extension, their office) happens in the Pride Ring because they are hired by Sinners who can only be in the Pride Ring. The difference is the fact that their office is in Imp City while Hazbin takes place in Pentagram City.

Most Hellborn prefer to live in other Rings (though definitely not all of them), but IMP is in the Pride Ring because their customers are Sinners, same as the Hotel! :)
