2025-12-24 16:12:38 +0000 UTCI personally loved the first episodes songs BUT! It's okay. You dont have to like every song. You've got your own tastes and that's TOTALLY fine! I think people get too excited sometimes when they like something and they want EVERYONE to like it too. But its okay to like what you like 🥰❤️ I still appreciate all of your inputs! And its interesting to hear what is hitting and what isn't. I didn't like gravity the FIRST time I heard it. Then I listened a few more times and was like, "Oh no wait this is actually kinda cool!" Music is art! And art allows for variety 🥰 And its okay to not like or enjoy ALL of it. Or enjoy parts of it and not others ❤️ I know you already know this but sometimes when the hate comments come in we can kinda forget that we have choices or that its okay to not please everyone. So I hope this little reminder helps bring that known information to the front of your mind if you ever have to read through annoying commentary (hopefully not! But... its the internet)

2025-11-17 14:31:52 +0000 UTCI looked it up the timing of the flashback and timing that was around the time of Jack The Ripper so I think that was the angle they went for with him.

2025-11-15 02:49:59 +0000 UTCyeah its hilarious how easy this lone sinner thinks its be to rule heaven whilst knowing all those higher that he'd have to go through, also omh yes mort is gonna love HB espec a later character in *that* song....

2025-11-10 04:32:42 +0000 UTCYou need to watch helluva on here! I would love to see your reaction to the amazing character growth. Also the comment from Vox about ruling hell is even more comical when you watch helluva and realize how they’d have to go through Lucifer, the sins, and the goetia. Another fun note - Abel is voiced by the lead singer of Fall Out Boy

2025-11-09 03:38:18 +0000 UTCI think the silhouette of the killer is meant to resemble pentious himself. Or at least his demon form, since it’s meant to torment them. The same way he’s covered in eyes because his sin was remaining a bystander. Witnessing the crime wasn’t his sin, but choosing to remain only a witness was. So then he was forced to always see his own shadow.

2025-11-09 01:19:00 +0000 UTCAgreed don't know that reference, don't watch this lol! ALSO DR HORRIBLE SING ALONG BLOG REFERENCE!!! = = = = EP 1 COMMENTS: A very fair point, More musical Theater esc in Season 2, where as Season 1 felt more grounded, these couple of episodes and possibly the whole season would be more grandiose / more musically expressive! A well made comparison with NO ONE MOURNS THE WICKED, where it has great moments, but overall would be a Mid-Musical number! NOW ON THE OTHER HAND, EP 1 SONGS WERE 7/10! = = = = EP 2 COMMENTS: I also found Adam's return kind of off-putting, but mainly due to the fact of having "Someone in your head", seeing this from DEH, where it was done nearly entirely similar. But good-lord those harmonies and Alex's vocals do slay on GRAVITY!! Pentious really got my heart strings with the great Voice Acting and Animators! Also had great vocals and high notes in his only verse since, IT STARTS WITH SORRY!!!!! SONG RATING OF EP 2: 8.6/10

2025-11-05 00:00:06 +0000 UTCAlso a full instrumental drop out being one of your favorite musical things makes me feel like once again I must implore you to add Alice by Heart to your list

2025-11-04 18:02:47 +0000 UTCAnd speaking of Adam I thought when he said “Are they winners, are they sinners? Cause it’s cut and dry” back in Hell is Forever I’d assumed it was just a rhyme scheme but it’s very interesting that Sera uses that specific language when addressing Heaven (Winners, angels, and all who reside) and I feel like that really ties back into the attitudes we saw from Adam and Lute where they don’t actually care about morality (bc why are we implying it’s just a contest) and the general idea they use to justify their actions where they don’t believe you went to hell because you’re a bad person, they believe you’re a bad person because you went to hell.

2025-11-04 10:49:52 +0000 UTCI mean technically no matter what the Adam hallucination isn’t an excuse to keep Alex Brightman around given how he would still be voicing Pentious regardless

2025-11-04 05:18:33 +0000 UTCMy favorite is definitely Sera’s Confession. Gravity was good too though and I’ll definitely be singing both for a few days lol.

2025-11-03 14:30:37 +0000 UTCEven with incessant ads I vastly prefer streaming to premium cable for one singular reason: YOU set the broadcast schedule and watch exactly what you want, exactly when you want. No being tied to "what's on right now." (tho i must admit there is a level of nostalgic charm to it)

2025-10-31 21:24:45 +0000 UTCGay baby owl - good sir, you speak of the glorious Stolas. I really hope you do Helluva Boss one day. I think you might (sadly) hate episodes 1-4, but once it hits episode 5 onwards then it stops being so much shock humour and turns into an absolutely stellar character drama with some beautiful background work, stunning animation, and gorgeous songs. It's a literal crime you don't know some of those songs. From Bryce singing beautifully as Stolas, to Alex Brightman's chaos as Fizzarolli, I truly hope you give it a go one day. It's much more musically diverse than Hazbin, which is more traditionally musical theatre. It doesn't have a song in every episode, but especially from episode 6 onwards there's one in most episodes. I think you'd flip out over the musical theming in Moxxie's Bad Trip. If you do watch it, you can still watch the youtube versions (which are preferable) and generally not get copyright struck.

2025-10-31 12:32:45 +0000 UTCso in case you didn't look it up after the recording, cherri has had those tattoos since season 1, i also had to go look it up because it was such a small detail that i previously hadn't noticed until you pointed it out! but yes she has had that tattoo since season 1

2025-10-31 09:52:18 +0000 UTCA particularly subtle touch that I found quite clever in "Sera's Confession": the Speaker tells her that "You speak of choices made by other voices/you can only atone when you speak with your own," and then immediately following this Sera adopts the Speaker's melody with her final, confused question about where she can look to for forgiveness as an angel. Right when she has been advised to look inward her guilt compels her to voice her own fear in "another's voice," musically speaking. It reminds me of a similar, though distinct, moment in "Superboy and the Invisible Girl," where the son commandeers Natalie's melodic line and forces her to sing the harmony on her own song, reflecting her conviction that he has displaced/colonized the affection her mother owes to her. It's fascinating when a leitmotif/melodic line can migrate into the mouth of another character like this, a really effective way for the music itself to reinforce/complicate the characterization.

2025-10-31 04:07:44 +0000 UTCBlack Friday reference in 2nd episode. The poster and the film is Santa goes to high school (Northfield high). Sorry really fresh in head as we are doing an Xmas concert (rehearsal starts next week as it's Halloween concert this week) with my musical theatre group and my daughter is going to suggest deck the halls

2025-10-30 21:10:25 +0000 UTCNot sure if anyone else has said it or if you already know, but Abel's voice actor is Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy :) I love him so much
Pandora
2025-10-30 20:52:05 +0000 UTCthe guy who voices Baxter is mainly a Broadway guy (or at least that's where I know him from). I believe he was actually Tony nominated for his role in Some Like It Hot (which Christian Borle was also in), and this is going to be a super random/niche pull but he also wrote the book/script for the musical Altar Boyz

2025-10-30 09:03:02 +0000 UTCGotta say the songs didn't feel great to me at first either but now I've listened to them like 5 more times and I am vibing a lot. Though that's a thing that tends to happen to me with a lot of musicals in particular just generally.

2025-10-30 05:35:02 +0000 UTCALSO it's 100% Jack the Ripper. Saucy Jack. They say he went on to kill 5 more. Which while not matching the canonical 5 it does fit the possible 6th victim. I swear I've seen like two fans I talk to call he might have been involved in the Ripper murders. I really liked that part. And I LOVE the speaker.

2025-10-30 05:11:50 +0000 UTC47:38 just personally had a lot of fun with the vees song here. I dunno. I love my TV man givijg. A rousing speech about becoming god. I love a narcissist who's got the big delusions. And the animation was really fun. But hey. We know what's coming in episode 2 and that song. That one. Yeah no I ain't naming it. *Is*, probably gonna be the song of the damn season.

2025-10-30 04:58:12 +0000 UTC1) I get the reference!! 2) that moment you get reminded who box voice actor is and then can't listen to vox the same 😂😂 love it 3) completely agree the first episode wasn't my favorite but got super excited when episode 2 was in heaven Gravity is already on my playlist!!! 4)God damn ads become jump scares!

2025-10-30 02:58:56 +0000 UTCYou were commenting on not being quite pulled in by the songs yet, and I was sitting here practically bouncing in my seat saying "Oh, just you *wait*, Mortius!". I avoided spoilers for s2 like it was dodgeball day in gym class (but with successful dodging this time), and I'm particularly glad that I didn't listen to any of the songs prior to the full release. Gravity is definitely my favorite song so far this season and at least in my top five for the whole show. The bits of Latin had me SO hyped, and I nearly had to pause and calm myself when you nerded out over it too! I also really enjoyed the Sera/Speaker song, especially since Liz Callaway voiced characters in some of my favorite childhood films. Emily's song to Pen was a nice little bop, but probably my least favorite of the season. This may be my favorite episode of Hazbin out of all of them except perhaps the pilot (not sure if that should count, but I'm still crazy about it). At first three songs seemed like a lot...until I compared it to the pace of other, more "traditional" musicals and realized that no, actually, three is a very reasonable number! Haha. Looking forward to your reactions to the rest of s2 as it releases! :)

2025-10-30 02:12:16 +0000 UTCDon't worry, my first reaction was to agree with you when I watched it last night. Episode one was NOT strong. It had some cute moments (Lucifer and Charlie's talk, Angel wanting to talk more about his feelings, Cherri struggling and Angel being there for her) but neither song was particularly gripping or even catchy in a you'll-accidentally-sing-it-later way. While the first episode LAST season had "Hell is forever" which got stuck in one's head FOREVER. The second episode, the first song I found okay. Nothing bad about it, just wasn't amazing to me. But Sera's Confession? CHILLS. And Gravity? There's no way to not regard that as a thorough banger. Both of the latter two were leaked like a year ago, so I think they were MORE determined to make sure the final versions of the songs were amazingly animated and powerful to defy the leaking situation. I adore the Speaker and I ADORE that they're taking Sera down the actual repenting route. I feel like it's just so common to see someone revert back into hardcore "NO! I WAS RIGHT!" and I really hope they don't do that with Sera because it's refreshing to see a character literally screwing up and yet still having the burden of making decisions. She IS in charge. No one else is willing to give her guidance. She has to decide. Both she and Charlie are having breakdowns over their decisions and ironically, Pentious is central to both. Charlie because she feels she caused him to die for something she can't prove and Sera because he was redeemed, which shows she had been making a mistake this entire time. Charlie's vindication is Sera's damnation. Yet she still publicly announces it and STILL seems to be accepting the blame. I just really, really want Sera to be our example of a person who tried their best for the right reasons but made an awful decision and accepts correction. Because what she says at the end of the song is true. If souls in hell can be redeemed, then to me, she HAS To be able to too. Having her spiral and become evil feels like it'd negate the entire premise to me. Also, watching that scene again tonight and seeing Sera... she's totally having basically a panic attack in the "trial" scene. Everyone's wanting her to explain something that has NEVER happened before and she's realizing she could have been mistaken but what people miss out on is IF SHE IS WRONG and Sir Pentious is somehow foolign the system, she's putting OTHER lives on the line. She can't win here. One side is she has a ton of potential innocent blood on her hand... or the other side is she makes a mistake now and will have a ton of innocent blood on her hands. And just like Charlie asks her dad and TRIES to ask Lilith for guidance... Sera asks the only figure she can for guidance, the Speaker, and is told she just has to find her own voice. Like the Sera/Charlie parallels are actually strong here. It really turned Sera into a potential favorite for me.

2025-10-30 01:07:48 +0000 UTCI am so glad I didn’t listen to Gravity until the episode came out. I know it’s super early in the season but I feel like it’s gonna be one of my favorite songs. Also I find it immensely personally enjoyable that Jessica Vosk now has two songs on opposite sides of the spectrum that both deal with Gravity (this song, and Defying Gravity).
