I’m very slowly catching up and all the videos I missed and I was so surprised to see you react to this one. It’s one of my favorite bands but it’s one of those groups where it’s very hard to appreciate to its full potential without understanding the lyrics. To give you some general context: this song is about climate change, it’s start by the singer explaining that his brother died yesterday in the middle of the desert. He then proceeds to tell you he is the last human still living on earth and how humans killed the earth by ignoring scientific warnings and being obsessed by money. Here’s a small selection of lyrics from the middle of the song that I translated for you: “It all started years ago when my ancestors were obsessed by pieces of paper that they called money that would make some man extremely wealthy and powerful. These new gods who would stop at nothing were ready to do everything to meet their goals. To enrich themselves further they razed the earth, polluted the air and dried up the rivers. But after hundred years people rose up and warned them that they had to stop everything. But they didn’t listen to this wise prophecy, these men would only talk in terms of profits.” The song then ends by the singer who was the last human alive dying and saying goodbye to humanity. I realize my comment is extremely long I’m sorry I got a little too excited. If someone ever requests a song in French again and you’d like a translation before reacting to it I’d be happy to do it 😊

I hope you check out the lyrics to get a better understanding of the song and maybe check out more of their work or even other french canadian artists. (Also good to know that Im not the only french canadian patron here)
