2025-07-08 02:40:57 +0000 UTCI vaguely remember seeing trailers for this show when it came out - I'm now way more into music and musical than I was back then, so this might be fun to revisit. Also, it sounded like Mortius originally thought that Zoey was hearing songs that were stuck in people's heads - that could actually be a really funny concept. Imagine how annoying it would be to have to deal with not just your own earworms, but those of everyone around you.

I'd like to coin these as Public Space Musicals, where it's so weird to witness and you'd like to run home as soon as possible. Sheezus, the amount of people who need help in this! I wasn't shocked to see actors who've been in Pitch Perfect are here, hi.

I loved ZEP and am so sad it only got 2 seasons😭 Even if you don't make it a full series, definitely check out more songs from this show, they got some amazing actors/singers like Sklar Astin (Pitch Perfect, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, So Help Me Todd), Alex Newell (Glee as Unique) and even Renne Elise Goldsberry and Bernadette Peters make guest appearances! And the songs they pick are always peak. Also, during the songs, they'll have one-track shots, meaning the camera will film all of one take in one recording. I'm sure they do multiple takes and they'll also edit different angles together, but I've noticed shots from the same angle be from the same take cause the movements will match perfectly.

XD I'm still so excited you enjoyed it!! I think the funniest part of Zoey getting these powers is that one of her big character traits is SHE DOESN'T LIKE MUSIC! XD Bring tissues when/if you watch it!! <3

2025-07-05 20:34:00 +0000 UTCTotally recommend you watching it. Be prepared to have your emotions destroyed but some of the best use of songs and honest depictions of complexity of emotions ever in a show. The actors are all incredible, the songs are beautiful, and the comedy usually on point.
