En's Weekly Thoughts:
If you've ever wanted to know how goddamn ancient I am: the "movie" that I put as some quiet, barely-audible background noise for this audio is the show Ayashi no Ceres, which came out in 2000 and is the first anime I ever watched (by buying a bootleg DVD version of it with my sister on eBay). I don't remember if it's any good or not so please don't bother seeking it out if you've read the premise and think it's interesting.
There's a constant semi-joke that I make on my streams where if someone brings up something from a while back, I ask them if they feel old knowing that it's been X amount of years since that thing happened. Like, can you believe it's already been 8 years since Vine shut down? Or that it's been 13 years since Gangnam Style was first a thing?
I try not to fall into a pattern of thought where I'm beating myself up for feeling like I didn't accomplish much in those years, as I often fall into the habit of doing. And it might sound super corny for me to say, but those years of me supposedly doing nothing were still super important to me becoming the person I am now. I really needed long stretches of time of drawn-out boredom and self-doubt and confusion to be the self-assured person I am now.
So even if there's a part of me that feels a little wistful at thinking of how it's already been 25 years since the anime for Ayashi no Ceres came out, I still mostly reflect on how much I've grown for the better since then, even if I can't define the intervening moments with so-called "accomplishments."
I hope you're all taking care of yourselves and you're able to treasure all the more mundane moments of your life, 'cause those are the moments that help shape you just the same.
As always, catch me on Twitch being goofy and annoying 'cause that's where most of my attention (outside of my 9-5 job) goes. And if you have any ideas for script scenarios, feel free to DM me here!
