Chapter 1022 Commercial Football

“We need to be more proactive on the offensive end — create opportunities and take more shots. The opponent’s defense looks shaky, and we should take full advantage of that to create scoring chances for the team,” Su Luo suggested.
“That’s right! We can also increase the pressure on them through quick passing in midfield,” Robert added. “Their passing ability is weak, and that’s an area where we have the upper hand.”
Hagen immediately nodded in agreement. “Good idea. That’ll make our offense even more threatening.”
Just then, the coach walked over from the side.
“Su Luo, you won’t be able to play in this match,” he said reluctantly.
The news hit Su Luo hard, but he didn’t let it show. He took a deep breath and smiled. “Coach, I’ll continue to support the team — whether I’m on or off the field. I’ll do my best to help us win.”
The coach was clearly pleased with Su Luo’s attitude. “Thank you for your support, Su Luo. I know you’ll use your insight and experience to help us tactically.”
In the final moments before kickoff, Su Luo and his teammates focused on fine-tuning their tactical plan.
He proposed several new strategies and analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing lineup.
Even though he wouldn’t be on the pitch, Su Luo knew he still had an important role to play. His leadership and ideas could still help the team secure victory.
After the meeting, Su Luo walked toward the dressing room, his heart feeling a little heavy. But as he turned the corner, he saw Emily waiting by the door.
Her eyes were filled with warmth and anticipation, and her presence immediately eased his frustration.
The two left the stadium together and found a quiet, vintage café on the outskirts of Dortmund.
They sat by the window, smiling softly at each other, the glow in their eyes full of tenderness and understanding.
“Su Luo,” Emily said gently, taking his hand, “I know you’re upset about not being able to play, but I believe you’ll come back stronger.”
Gratitude flashed in Su Luo’s eyes. “Thank you for always believing in me, Emily. I know I’m a good player — but for me, football isn’t just a profession.”
Emily tilted her head slightly. “Then what does football mean to you?” she asked curiously.
Su Luo gazed into her eyes, his voice calm and sincere.
“For me, football is love — a passion for perfection. Whether I’m on the pitch or not, I want to use football to inspire others, to bring them joy and hope.”
Emily nodded thoughtfully. “That’s beautiful. But reality isn’t always so kind. Football today has become so commercialized — sometimes it loses the purity it once had. What do you think about that?”
Su Luo smiled faintly. “You’re right — football has changed. But I believe there’s still a balance to be found. What matters is how we approach it. For me, it’s about staying true to that pure love for the game and trying to bring some of that purity back.”
A gentle look of admiration crossed Emily’s face. “You always find your own way to face problems,” she said softly, giving his hand a light pat.
They both turned to look out the window at the quiet street. The café was peaceful, the soft light casting a warm glow over them.
Even though challenges lay ahead, their eyes reflected the same hope — the same shared vision of a brighter future.
Later, Su Luo led Emily to Dortmund’s state-of-the-art Football Analysis Center — a spacious, high-tech facility filled with modern equipment and data systems.
