The pain was still evident, but his determination to keep going was stronger than ever.
The crowd was deeply moved by his unwavering spirit and refusal to admit defeat.
“Hang in there, Su Luo!”
“You can do it!”
“We believe in you!”
The fans’ shouts of encouragement echoed throughout the stadium.
Captain Hagen immediately rushed over to Su Luo with the team doctor at his side.
“Are you okay? Do you need help?” Hagen asked, concern written all over his face.
Su Luo shook his head firmly and clenched his fists. Despite the obvious pain, the fire in his eyes showed the persistence burning deep within him.
With great effort, Su Luo limped toward the Dortmund dugout, his face pale from pain but filled with determination.
Hagen quickly noticed his difficulty walking and gently patted his shoulder.
“Hang in there, Su Luo. You’re doing great,” Hagen said softly.
Su Luo gave a faint smile and nodded. “Thanks, Hagen. I know this hurts… but I won’t give up.”
Hagen smiled, his eyes filled with confidence. “Of course not! This is just a temporary setback. You’re our core player — the one we all rely on. You still have so much ahead of you.”
Su Luo felt the warmth and encouragement from his captain and teammates, igniting his fighting spirit once again.
“Yes! I won’t let this injury defeat me. I’ll keep fighting,” he said, his tone firm and resolute.
Hagen nodded and placed a hand over his chest. “That’s the spirit! We believe in you, Su Luo. Nothing can stop you from becoming the best version of yourself on the field.”
Hearing those words, Su Luo’s eyes filled with gratitude.
“Thank you, Hagen. Your support means everything to me,” he said sincerely.
Hagen smiled again, then turned toward the rest of the team. Before leaving, he glanced back one more time.
“Remember, Su Luo — in this team, we always support each other, on and off the pitch.”
Su Luo nodded, his voice low but heartfelt. “I won’t forget that.”
Later that evening, Su Luo lay on a hospital bed at Dortmund Central Hospital, staring blankly at the ceiling. His face showed exhaustion and disappointment — his heart weighed down by frustration.
Hagen stood beside the bed and gently patted his shoulder. He knew Su Luo needed encouragement more than ever.
“Su Luo, I know you’re upset about the injury,” Hagen said softly, “but you have to believe you can overcome this. You’re the core of our team. Everyone knows how strong your willpower is. As long as you trust yourself, you can recover faster than anyone expects.”
Su Luo turned to look at him and gave a faint smile. “Thank you, Hagen. I’ll do my best to believe in myself.”
But deep inside, a trace of doubt began to stir. He couldn’t help but question his future in football.
On the other side of the bed, Emily — his girlfriend — gently held his hand.
“Don’t worry too much, dear,” she said softly. “I believe you’ll overcome this. You always do.”
Su Luo’s voice was quiet but steady. “I’ll recover soon… and I’ll stand on that field again.”
The three of them stood together in that small hospital room, a moment filled with warmth, love, and mutual strength.
Su Luo’s heart, once clouded with despair, slowly began to fill with courage again.
Dortmund couldn’t afford to lose such a key player — and Hagen knew just how important Su Luo was to their future.
