360 Admiral's life and death

Because of the dense fog caused by the explosion, no one knew what had happened to Kronos and Zephyr.

The blast had been so overwhelming that no one could see what was going on in the center of it. Could either of them possibly survive such devastation?

One thing was certain: after that kind of explosion at such close range, neither could have come out completely unscathed.

The Marine powerhouses admired Zephyr’s courage but couldn’t help worrying about the respected elder. They all silently hoped Zephyr would somehow be safe.

After all, Zephyr wasn’t just any Marine. He was the teacher of countless soldiers, including all three of the current Admirals. His students already numbered in the hundreds.

Many of the Marines who had once been trained by Zephyr had since become famous in their own right. Even someone like Akainu could be counted among his most outstanding students.

More than thirty of those who had once studied under Zephyr were now fighting in this very battle.

As they often said, without Zephyr’s teaching, they would never have reached their current heights—they might have remained nobodies, forgotten in the back ranks.

That was why none of them wanted to believe that something terrible had happened to him.

Even though they knew the chances of his survival were slim, they still prayed for a miracle.

“I hope Teacher Zephyr is okay… I really don’t want anything to happen to him.”

“I didn’t expect that Teacher Zephyr would actually try to take Kronos down with him… but that’s just like him. Only he would make such a decision.”

“Maybe from the very start, he had already resolved himself to die in this battle. Maybe he never intended to return alive.”

“No, Teacher Zephyr! You can’t die yet! You promised you’d live to see me become an Admiral!”

The Marines cried out, grief heavy in their voices.

Some, unable to contain their emotions, broke into tears.

They knew the truth—Zephyr was already injured, and age had long since weighed on his body.

The chances of his survival were nearly zero.

“Is the teacher dead…?”

Even Admiral Kizaru couldn’t stop the sorrow in his voice. Zephyr had always treated him kindly. Back before Kizaru himself had become an Admiral, Zephyr had guided him, looked after him, and pushed him forward.

In many ways, Zephyr was like a second father, one who had watched him grow step by step.

The bond between them was undeniable.

At that moment, Gojo Satoru, who stood across from Kizaru, suddenly laughed.

“I really didn’t expect the famous ‘Black Arm’ Admiral to die in such a foolish way. Hilarious.”

Kizaru’s face darkened, rage boiling in his chest.

Normally, Kizaru gave the impression of being carefree, detached, almost indifferent. But he still had a bottom line—and Gojo Satoru had just crossed it.

Before Kizaru could lash out, Gojo continued, his mocking tone slicing through the air:

“Do you Marines really think you can defeat Captain Kronos with a trick like that?”
