2026-02-02 04:23:16 +0000 UTCWould you rather spend 1% of your resources on a device that can put your siblings out of their misery, however unlikely it is to be used, which would also encourage the more foolhardy of them to put themselves more at risk, or would you rather use that 1% to reduce the risk to them further? Not saying it doesn’t have merit, just that it’s probably most useful during very specific operations when ants are forced to leave the safe zone. But those tend to be the most powerful ants, and thus the safest counterintuitively.

I know that "dying for the colony" zealots have been mostly stomped out except for Leroy's squad, but surely this is a bit of an exception, if a single ant getting caught and corrupted could lose...everything.
