Literally everything got significantly worse as the show went on. Design-wise, changing Ruby's hairstyle was the greatest sin they've made. It's insanely recognizable in the original design, and then they just try (and fail) to make generic spiky anime protagonist hair.

And this might sound controversial to say, but RWBY Vol 1-3 had the best outfit iterations for the team. The other outfits just got worse as the seasons went on.
