I love Episode 8 so much! Abbott is currently in the middle of season 5 and this episode is still one of my favorites.

Terry Crews as Gregory’s dad never would have crossed my mind. FYI: From the minute the cast was announced, there was an on-line campaign for Orlando Jones to play Gregory’s father because people think they resemble one another. It became such a thing that Jones began lobbying for the role by responding to the fans, and Williams stated he always wanted to work with Jones, and could completely see Jones playing his dad.

I'm so glad that I'm re-watching this show with all of you. On my first viewing, I enjoyed it, but I didn't really catch all the little details and sometimes missed emotional beats. It's the kind of show you can kind of relax and watch, but it's such high quality that it deserves more attention. I loved all of these episodes but especially "Step Class," which almost made me cry. Ava annoyed me in the beginning of my first viewing, but I grew to adore her. Watching it again, I can see how I didn't look close enough into her character early on. It also feels, in these episodes, that the actors have settled into their roles and seem more natural -- especially the actor playing Jacob. Great reaction! I wish you would have gotten up and done the stepping with the ladies, though. I gotta say. ;)
