You were born too soon, hon. You would have loved 70s music βοΈπ

Homosexuality or bisexuality was seen as a choice and a perversion at this time in this country, Transvestites were looked upon as depraved. For having come out of the "sexual revolution" of the late 60s, America was still very prudish. VERY. Purists in public, perverts in private. And whatever you do, you do NOT talk about it. βοΈπ I do not miss those days.

Bill is so petty, 'I'm enjoying the leg room π'.
Holden keeping his girl with his rather limited social skills, despite her taking as he comes, is a hard one. I feel like they were pulling apart a little here, he always brings his work home, understandably, but he doesn't know when to give her space or make things about her. So she's slipping away.

I'm sure I can say it now, as you've finish ep 1, but as someone who is always ahead of the game when it comes to predictions and seeing things that many miss, I'm surprised you've not been piecing together what they're talking about in each episode and layering it on top of the snippets me we of the 'beginning dude' π¬

the Brudos interview is one of the most fascinating interviews to me. We get depth on insight and begin to see how these killers maladaptively develop associations between "taboo" and reality when they're young and its something that develops privately as they get older, and how shame can reinforce it burrowing it deeper into their heads

that scene between Bill & Nancy in episode 7 always breaks my heart for them. I guess I always thought Nancy just knew what Bill deals with on a day to day basis but even knowing now, it's hard to fit all that work in with a developing child. I feel for Nancy.

And the escalation of grooming a child for molestation or sexual assault really is similar to the escalation of a serial killer. That principal is 100% getting off on tickling those kids' feet. F that dude.

That whole conversation to the students is unbelievably inappropriate and I cannot imagine that EVER happening. Talking to staff, yes, but kids?? Yikes.

The song playing into the credits of the first episode is FIRE. Reminds me of being young and listening to my mom blast it in the car.

There was so much not known about adoption trauma back then. Many children develop attachment issues, ADHD, depression, oppositional behavior. I always get the vibe that their son has reactive attachment disorder.

Do you want to know who the guy is in the opening scenes or not?
