2025-10-20 15:21:36 +0000 UTCYeah but the viewer and Sookie are tainted by hearing what is in his head and adding that to his creepiness factor, he doesn't think he is being creepy cause he doesn't think she is reading him, she has told the people closest to her that she won't read them. Her skill really makes everything totally different than it is on the surface.

The show kicks into high gear in season 2. With lots of answers to burning questions. Her brothers name is Jason. Sam is the boss of the bar (Merlottes). Sam Merlotte.

And the obvious racism/homophobia metaphors were so crazy at the time this was coming out (2008!!!). Lafayette is my favourite, he’s just comic relief early on but gets some very fun moments throughout the series. RIP Nelsan Ellis. Annnd fun fact: at 38:43, you can see Grandma Stackhouse reading the first book in the series True Blood is based on.

You handled Jasons ridiculous oversexed behavior really well! 😂 But, hopefully you can see what we were saying that, even though there is sex, its generally important to the plot. And, thank goodness, there's no incest or twincest or reluctant or unwilling participants, etc.
