It’s so funny how immediately off-putting and suspicious Chilton is. He was the perfect red herring, they had me fooled too 😂
Your analysis is so sharp! You always notice things that totally went over my head when I watched the show for the first time. Loving these!

I absolutely loved this reaction, and I adore your theories! Even if you might get a few things wrong, you’re pretty sharp, and I love how you manage to see beneath the surface of things. I’ve always found the difference in empathy between Jack and Hannibal fascinating. Jack is someone without any apparent personality disorder, but because of his work and personality, he tends to be tough and keeps his emotions to himself. He’s so focused on his own problems that he unconsciously neglects empathy for others, like Will and his wife.
Hannibal, on the other hand, lacks the natural ability to feel empathy, yet he’s developed such strong cognitive empathy that he knows exactly what to say and do in any given moment to help a friend or comfort someone. I find it really intriguing that the show decided to highlight this duality, because it’s very true to life. Hannibal had to work to be empathetic, while Jack has it naturally.
It’s something you see in real life too—people who have to work for something often surpass those who don’t need to put in the effort. There are many real-life psychopaths or sociopaths who end up being more empathetic and doing more good than people without those disorders.

Never stop guessing, it's kinda what we are all here for.
I love Hannibal, he's so evil, smart and slick as fuck.

One of the joys of the show is when they pull the wool over my eyes. Like goddamn. I was here the whole time. What do you mean I missed it?

Don’t be upset about not seeing the 3D level moves by the master player, Hannibal. The show creators are deliberately trying to invoke feelings of disorientation & loss of control, much like Jack and Will are feeling.
Fun fact: in this episode there are many deliberate references to The Silence of the Lambs film, even in the way Eddie Izzard (Gideon), echos Anthony Hopkins’ performance as Hannibal. Can’t wait to see your reactions to the next two episodes and Hannibal’s further revelations

Never shut up! The speculation is great. Even if you’re wrong, talking through your reasons is valuable discussion.
This episode was less misleading, I think, if you’re familiar with the books or movies. There were several references to Silence of the Lambs that hint at the Chesapeake Ripper being Hannibal. Your guess that it was Dr. Chilton was really good, though. He was definitely guilty of SOMETHING, but it was just boring old unethical / shitty psychiatry, not murder.

At this point I’m just gonna blame Hannibal for everything. It’s easier than trying to figure it all out. I’m with you on that 😔

We are LITERALLY PAYING YOU MONEY to hear you talk out loud, have theories, and react. Please don’t ever stop doing that. :)
Many of the show’s viewers knew more of the Hannibal lore from other movies and the books. You are unspoiled, which makes your reactions very unique and special to someone like me who’s so into the source material. And as a fan of it, I promise you, you’re still impressing us with the questions you ask and the theories you have. This was an excellent reaction and I cannot wait for your next one! :)
Side note, the actors who play Jack and Bella are married in real life. I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for them to act through what it would be like for her to have cancer. It breaks my heart thinking about what they would have gone through emotionally, but it’s such impressive work!

It's easy to sometimes forget that Hannibal's pretty much the worst.
