New Feature: Roll Appraiser + DIM Integration
Added 2024-01-13 20:30:15 +0000 UTCHi all! Wanted to drop in and let you know about an exciting new feature that's on the beta server as of today: Roll Appraiser + DIM integration!
The Roll Appraiser should now automatically pull in your DIM tags and also allow you to update your tags without having to jump between the two tools. These features will be available for the general public, and should just start working as soon as you bring up the roll appraiser with an account that has authorized both light.gg and DIM.
Additionally, as a heroic-only feature, the Roll Appraiser can now automatically apply DIM tags to new items based on popularity rank ranges you set. You can enable this feature under Settings > Automation. Be sure to read the pop up that shows after enabling - it explains the gotchas pretty thoroughly.

Seeing this immediately had me subscribe on patreon. Light.gg and DIM have both been integral parts of my my workflow in Destiny and I've been wishing for integration for years. The only thing that would make me happier would be an API for light.gg so my developer-itch could be scratched and I could do some data analysis. You do an annoyingly great job at obfuscating your API requests! (unsure if intentional, but the amount of times I've tried to extract data from light.gg to better sort my inventory is... High) My only feature requests in addition to the DIM auto-tagging would be - an option to not overwrite manual tags on first run (not that big of an issue) - maybe an option to add a DIM note with the score? Now after several years of trying, between light.gg, DIM and a script I wrote that uses DIM's armor picked to bruteforce armor combinations, I can finally say I have fully automated the decision making process for destiny inventory management. Thank you!
