At long last! The achievement page has been entirely redesigned to be more useful, informative, and visually pleasing.
We want PlayTracker to be the best place to browse your games and achievements, and we have been working towards that goal by redesigning some of our pages to be faster, easier to use, and to offer the features users need that PlayTracker is lacking.
That is why the new achievement page introduces a search box that lets you find specific achievements, as well as a variety of sorting options:
*available for games where rarity data is available, we are working on getting this to 100% coverage this year
There is also a comparison feature that will automatically show your data alongside the user you are viewing if you have earned any achievements in that game.
The new design does away with clunky achievement limits that were a technical limitation. Achievements now use the same system as your user feed - the first 16 achievements are loaded right away (taking into account your sort and search parameters) and then there is a button at the bottom to load an additional 16 until there are no more achievements to load. This should result in a significantly faster page in general, and it means we have removed all previous restrictions.
The hidden achievement data toggle has also been completely rebuilt from the ground up to not be totally garbage. If an achievement is marked as secret by the game's developers, its' name and description will be hidden and the icon replaced with a spoiler-free icon unless you enable the toggle at the top of the page. You will see full data for secret achievements you've unlocked yourself without applying the toggle, but not secret achievements the person you are viewing has unlocked - so no worries about spoilers while viewing your friends' progress.
You'll also notice a link to Insight in the navigation menu - this is part of our revamped approach to game pages that detaches achievement pages from a particular user, and attaches them to the game, tying Insight and Social together. This new navigation menu is coming to Insight soon too, and new game-centric features will join soon.
A new library page is the other big part of our "make PlayTracker to be the best place to browse your games and achievements" goal and is coming soon.
We know none of this means anything if achievement sync isn't reliable. While we've fixed a mountain of problems already over the past year, lingering issues due to the console's generational shift remain and are being worked on. A new batch of fixes for sync problems and missing data (like rarity and the game's "about" info) will be rolling out this weekend, with more coming after that.
Thank you for your patience and support of PlayTracker! Stay tuned for more feature updates soon.
