End November Update

I... realize it is now, technically speaking, December. But this contains the changes I was intending to make through the end of November, so >.>

I hope you've had a good Thanksgiving, and I hope the holidays are treating you generally well! Just as an update, if you're not regularly checking here or writing.dog, on some changes and/or new content.

In addition to "Perfidia," which was also posted to SoFurry, library subscribers now have access to "Dog Star" and its sequel, "Behold, I Send You Forth" about a human transformed into a wolf's body for the purposes of, uh... diplomacy. "Behold, I Send You Forth" was originally in the Matters Out of Place anthology, so if you don't have that anthology and want to read it, this is your chance. I note in some of the commentary that I'm not wild about this setting, and so the promised third story never materialized. I'm open to being persuaded otherwise, of course.

Everyone now has access to an experiment I built for Hatikvah, which is a table of organization and equipment for the opposing forces in that novel. The way the generator works is by allowing the user to define an arbitrary base unit (a platoon or something smaller) and the equipment and personnel attached to it, and then increasingly larger, nested units. So if you change the equipment list for an armored platoon, any unit whose children contains armored platoons will be automatically updated.

I might reuse this for the armies in my fantasy setting, although I don't currently have any stories scheduled there. It's something I wrote to help me out, and as a result it's not especially well commented but, as with everything on writing.dog and everything I do generally if you're interested in using it for your own projects feel free to ask and I'll do what I can do help.

The Fourth Wall engine is updated to a new minor version reflecting a change I made to story interlinks so that closing punctuation is properly handled (i.e. Have you read "Dog Star," either here or on SoFurry rather than Have you read "Dog Star", either here or on SoFurry which is what it was like before). I'm aware of a bug with the way hyperlinks work and, generally, with how mouse interaction works in the hint boxes. I'll try to fix that soon.

For those of you learning Rukhat, the dictionary has been updated with about a dozen new words including the one for "suborbital starship," which I know you were missing :P
