Site updates, end of August
Added 2019-08-31 12:07:05 +0000 UTCHello, fuzzy folk!
Couple of updates for y'all. First, the newest chapter of The Valiant and the Bold is now up on Writing Dot Dog. This and the chapter following it are, uh, "adult"; then we're clean for a chapter. At least, as it's currently written. I have also uploaded "So Frantically Hectic," which I somehow overlooked. The entire Casey & Dev saga is, therefore, now live on the website.
Secondarily, I've uploaded the map renderer I use to GitHub for my own reasons (version control, mostly, and also with my main computer still gone I've switched development environments to an old laptop I have for prototyping at work, and my iMac, so I want to make sure everything stays in sync when I get my laptop back). Right now it's a private repository, but if there's agitation to make it public I can do so and let y'all know?
I now direct two other questions to you.
Question One: What should I clean up and post next? My personal desire is to tackle An Iron Road Running, which was an inflection point for my writing in the steampunk fantasy universe that also hosts the newest novel, and is my favorite novel >.> and would probably give me an excuse to work some more on the mapping system. But I could edit more. If you're using this to catch up on my older stuff, what do you want to see more of?
Question Two: Do you want me to start posting chapters early here? I have thoughts on this that drive my current approach (technically the new chapter isn't live on SoFurry yet, but I'll get to work on that in a bit, so technically I'm already doing so) which is to post more or less simultaneously, and I can explain my reasons if you want, but in general I'm deferring to you.
In exchange for feedback, or as bribery, have some attachments :p If it's easier for you to read novels as ebooks, Cry Havoc 2.0 is now in epub and Kindle formats. It doesn't include any of the annotations or translation and I didn't aggressively proofread the typesetting, but I believe it's in good shape.
Also, since I posted some old Casey & Dev and I'm working on new Casey & Dev, here's a render of the current model of the Long Tall Sally, a Sierra-254 class light freighter and blockade runner and... general-purpose Cool Ship. Initially I designed it with more of a Douglas nose, but then I realized I had kind of created an Antonov An-22, so I rebuilt the model with a glazed nose and Antonov-ish cockpit. The wings need to be smoothed out, and the model requires more greebling, but I think this is what the basic shape will stay like.
