He told me that on his first day, as his boss drove him around the area, they passed a road that turned off down into the woods. The boss told him the road dead ended in a holler, where a few families lived. Then he told him not to go down there. Whatever might need sorting out, would be handled by the residents. A place where the cops wouldn't go unless they absolutely had to, because they knew what was good for them.
