Horror game prototype

Therefore, this seemed like a good time to brush up and release this small horror game prototype for patrons only. Hope you enjoy.

Thank you, that didn't sound negative at all. The more honest the feedback the better. Yes, the sounds were a bit last minute so I definitely agree, it's not unlikely that I'd redo most(?) of that. Looking back at it, it would indeed be more logical if the 2 and 1 hit boards would already have a damaged/very damaged sprites. Glad you liked it, I'm hoping I'll have the time to finish this at some point, as I really like playing around with scary themes. For now though, more Cursed Travels will very likely serve as an outlet for that.

The platforming combined with the rock throwing was interesting, and even when I died to that fake path with the spikes at the bottom the checkpoint wasn't so far back that it felt unfair. A bit more of an intro would be nice, such as the man starting out in bed and seeing his daughter through the window or something. Also when breaking the boards, a bit of a visual indicator of which boards will take 1/2/3 hits to break would be good. I found myself either not doing enough swings in the chase sequence or doing too many swings, and losing time each way. Finally, the jump sound effect was just a little too cartoony to really let myself get immersed in the horror. I felt more like Mario than some suburban dad, haha. All in all I think this is a strong demo, and I look forward to the completed game if you ever find yourself with enough time to finish! (Sorry if this all sounds so negative, I figured honest feedback would be best. Also I'm just now seeing that you said you were already aware of anything sound related, so perhaps you already knew about the jump sound effect)
