FROM THE ARCHIVE - "First Billion Years"

This recording is from the Big Blue Meenie demo sessions for "General Winter's Secret Museum" back in 2006. When we went to record General Winter's, our producer Tim Gilles told us to just play him everything we had. This was an instrumental song that we would often play live. It was written entirely by Patrick. He had done a demo of this song, playing all the instruments by himself, a year or two earlier. It was not intended to be a Tea Club song, but was actually part of a 3 song "solo project" that he did one weekend. He'll tell you more about this himself, as these sessions were legendary and produced 2 other awesome songs that have never been released. Anyway, me and our original drummer Kyle Minnick loved this song so much that we learned the parts, embellished them a little, and played it live as a Tea Club song.

The title comes from something that Kyle's brother Justin said about the song, saying that it reminded him of "watching the first billion years of the universe come into being" or something to that effect!

This recording of "First Billion Years" was performed in 2006 by:

Thank you Jeff!!

Sounds good as always guys. It sort of reminds me of the instrumentals that I used to make but with less brutal metal. Luckily I left those sinking ships behind... Hope you guys are all doing well and I can't wait for more new stuff. -Jeff
