"Hero Slave" (March 2019 “Something New”)

As you might know, in addition to the new Tea Club album, we have been writing video game music, and are planning to release an album’s worth of it, called Talcon Industries. This is a song that will appear on it!

“Hero Slave” has a very unique back story. The song was released as the hidden track on The Tea Club’s 2005 EP Love Your Enemy, and it is actually an early recording of a Tea Club song called “Zero Wave”, but played BACKWARDS! That original recording is actually featured in the beginning of our Patreon promo video (click here to watch that).  And “Zero Wave” is a song that we recorded for our first album General Winter’s Secret Museum and it’s already been made available to you right here on Patreon (click here to listen to that)!

Anyway, when me and Joe were writing for this album of video game music, I remembered “Hero Slave” and thought about how cool it would sound as a song for video game, with electronic drums and vintage synth sounds. So I recorded a version of it, recreating the structure from that old recording from 2005, and sent it over to Joe, who used his magic keyboards to turn it into the song that it is today!

Are you excited to hear the rest of this Talcon Industries album? It isn’t going to be an official Tea Club album, but is a cool way to show y’all some music that we’ve been making while waiting for our new album to be finished mixing!

Let us know what you think, and as always, THANK YOU, Beloved Patrons, for your continued support and patronage!!!
