Who is Agia? What was she up to before Severian encountered her in Nessus? Was she a poor, shop girl with a weird brother? The daughter of a Pelerine, abandoned to live by her wits and learn various assassin-like trades? Was she the spawn of autochthon warlocks leaving sigils around the walls of Nessus? An amateur theologian just looking for a naif with whom she could debate the subtleties of Conciliator-lore? An escapee from Jungle Room of the Botanical Gardens?
Give us a story that reveals Agia’s background, nature, motives.
It can be years before she encounters Severian or the moments leading up to it. But we want to see unusual, original takes on Agia’s weirdness.
James and Craig will choose from the finalists voted on by the Master patrons.
FIRST PRIZE: Poster of the cover of the Book of the New Sun Omnibus signed by Don Maitz.
2ND/3RD PRIZE (maybe more): Dragonstairs Press version of the Rereading Wolfe Podcast interview with Michael Swanwick. Signed by Michael Swanwick himself.
All finalists will be read at the Shadow-of-the-Con at WorldCon and recorded for an episode of the podcast as well.
