What I'm working on
Added 2022-04-12 22:11:36 +0000 UTCFirst off I just want to thank you all as I didn't expect much support considering there aren't any perks. I thought I'd share what I'm working on and what I have planned for the future.
In the near future:
- Add more reactions to NPCs when you're messing with them, e.g. more dialogue, have them stop using any furniture they're using, and eventually trigger a bounty or have them get upset and start attacking you.
- Potentially also have a larger bump reaction for NPCs when you really shove them instead of how currently they will slowly back away from you touching them at any speed.
- Have you move slower while grabbing someone, and improve the way that they follow you when you have them grabbed (currently it's a bit broken for larger npcs like horses)
- Address any bugs/issues with PLANCK that crop up as they always do with a new release like this
Mid future:
- Implement some sort of locational damage / decapitation, or expose an interface for other mods to be able to implement it using planck's more precise hit detection.
- Ability to adjust your grip on two-handed weapons with higgs
- Come up with a balanced way of having you be able to ragdoll enemies when you grab them (something like a grab-and-yank with both hands, and only on low health enemies, or have it cost a ton of stamina or something)
- Address issues with NPCs getting up from the ground after they've been ragdolled, which exist in the base game but if I implement the point above, it will be much more common.
Further future:
- Impaling / having your weapon temporarily stick into whoever you're hitting. From higgs I have the tech to look at the actual geometry of things so I should be able to get the weapon to attach pretty believably.
This is something I've been thinking about since the beginning so I'm itching to actually have a crack at implementing this.
- Some sort of physical blocking, at least for characters with weapons. Not sure what to do about creatures yet.
- Try and implement a nice solution for having your hands (and potentially weapons / held objects) collide with things such as walls and other static objects instead of passing through them.
- Give your weapons and held objects a kind of virtual weight to them like other VR games do
I can't promise I'll get to all of these but that's a rough outline of what I'd like to do for the time being. Anyways, thanks again!
