Awesome Roger, I already had gone this way with my 3018 I bought and am using these lenear rails and steel framing instead of supplied 2020 alloy. I got good deal on 400w brushless spindle with heap of collets and am basically redesigning the whole thing as I build it. My frame is 500 x 600 in 50x50x2 duragal welded and trued up for twist should be nice and strong. I will be following this build of yours with much interest. Keep up the good work and stay well.
