HEY! A crazy catch-up, new updates, and a Patron-Only Project Preview

I've been very busy since I last posted. 

this is going to pack a lot of things in at once. HERE'S WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO:

Life

Not gonna get way into it, but the west-coast fires were a pretty big shift in direction for what I was working on. In September, I was starting to plan working on a relatively massive long-term game project for ideally a particular major platform. HOWEVER, but that got so shaken up I began to explore a lot of new directions, which ya might have noticed on my Twitter.

Video Plans? WHAT

I'm making a shift into doing more video content, since so many of my projects are the stories behind them.
I've been doing some quick-turnaround stuff I'm not planning to share as practice, and tomorrow I'm putting up a super small unserious meme-y vid based on a live-twitter thread where I built Kinect for Wii Sports.

But YOU can watch it here, exclusively early as a patron, now. 

Desktop Toys? YEAH

I've also SIGNIFICANTLY updated the desktop game engine - namely, a massive boost to Mac support. 

Remember the fireplace? It's running on Mac!

It's really expensive for me right now to join Apple Development with how I'm investing in the other projects right now (and given the contracts that have fallen through), so I can't actually send out Mac builds yet. But hopefully soon!

Hacking Tweets? WHY NOT

We also, uh...
we really screwed with Twitter.
I began a series of livestreams/games embedded inside of tweets, manipulating Periscope's behavior to put them INSIDE THE TIMELINE!

Twitter Aquarium, (shown pre-release), where a retweet would add you as a fish in the tank!

Twitter Trick Or Treat, a haunted mansion where you would either get candy or get cursed

I'd love to do some more of these, got a few ideas I'm kicking around but they're on pause for now, given the other projects!

Other Updates! OKAY SURE

This is all on top of things like the alternative Twitter Stories pitch I made.  Plus, I got featured in an article and I said some things about creativity! I spent a night and became The Last Kinect Developer!

In Conclusion

I've been moving in a lot of directions at once for the last few month. And those explorations have come together focused around video things for these projects!
- I created the Wiinect and you have early access to my next mini-video RIGHT NOW!
- Desktop toys will still be happening sporadically
- Cool livestream stuff will still be happening, at some point.
- The priority is MAKING COOL THINGS WITH TECHNOLOGY
The things I make are not 'good design', they're not super clean or elegant.
They're personal and weird and meaningful!

I'm gearing up for things that aren't ready to be spoken of, but if we get there, you'll be the first to know! Twitter's been popping off, and starting now I plan to do monthly (at the least) Patreon updates since the past couple months of wild experiments have settled in on a creative direction.
