Patreon changes!

This will come a bit suddenly, but I'm changing all my Patreon tiers! I figured since in the last three months I haven't even been able to keep up with uploading one song a month, it was about time I tried to revitalize things around here. Previously, I had tiers at $1, $2.50, $5 and $150. Those didn't seem intuitive at all, and when it came to doing ANYTHING for the $2.50 tier, I had seriously dropped the ball. This post will outline the changes between tiers and hopefully highlight where I think this new setup is going to benefit both me, and all my supporters.

$1 tier:

Previously, this tier was promised a suggestion post every month where people would be able to suggest songs for me to do, and I'd pick one out and do it. I failed miserably to keep up with that for 3 reasons: almost nobody engages on the page itself, I had already made a suggestion channel for free in my Discord server, and I don't check this page nearly enough to be able to keep up with something like that. I needed a change badly.

So, instead of reworking suggestions into some new tier scheme, I've decided to just make it completely free to anyone who joins my server. The suggestions channel there will remain the place to make any suggestions you want, preferably with a bit of reasoning as to why you think I should do it. 

What will take this tier's place? Quite simply, I'm dropping the $5 Discord role down to $1 at minimum, and giving it as a reward on all my tiers. I might come up with more roles for different tiers at some point, but for now it'll be just the one for all of them. With this role will come access to a channel where I will drop WIPs and small unfinished things open to change and suggestion from my patrons, now that Discord added the ability to embed audio files right into chat. I'm pretty happy about that, and I've been waiting for it for a while!

$2.50 tier: DROPPED

I've decided that this tier was too much for me to handle, especially given I only ever made one post for it, and nobody was subscribed at this tier anymore. I'd much rather give my advice to people who ask for it than put it behind some kind of paywall. The WIPs that this tier mentioned are now in my Discord, behind the $1 tier as described earlier.

$5 tier

This tier used to be simply the Discord role for patrons, and now that that's part of the $1 tier, I had to think of something else to put here. I had tried taking custom emoji edit commissions on Twitter a while back, for $6 each, and I considered those pretty successful! So now, what this tier is about is everyone who supports me at this level or above getting one emoji request per month, at a $1 discount from regular price!

Because that's not quite enough on its own, I decided to come up with a bonus musical raffle for this tier, as well. Each month starting next month, one random person from this tier up will get a musical demand of at least 30 seconds. I can't wait to see what kind of songs people come up with for this!

$20 tier: ADDED

To make sure I kept at least four tiers, I decided to add this tier as a stopgap measure between the $5 tier and the new $50 tier. While it's not one full musical demand, it is the ability to make me sing just about any phrase or sentence you want. I do reserve the right to refuse to sing anything that's overly offensive, racist or otherwise not within my morals, but as long as you're not a piece of trash, I'm sure you'll get me to sing anything you want. If I get enough of these per month, I might even combine them into one longer song with other phrases thrown in to tie them together! Fancy!

$50 tier: SLASHED FROM $150

The final tier is the same as before, but with a new, lower price, and an important stipulation! You'll get to make me sing anything you want within reason, and it will be guaranteed to be at least a minute long, unless the song you ask for is less than that already. Hopefully with this more reasonable figure behind it, someone will actually take me up on it, and I'll have a bit more engagement from my community.

I've made all these changes not only to make it easier for me to keep up with my commitments on here, but also to hopefully drive up interaction between myself and my supporters on the whole musical and artistic front. More changes might happen as time goes on, and I'd suggest you check back regularly to make sure you're getting the highest tier you can for your money.
