Proper filming of Project Sleeper starting very soon!
Added 2021-04-27 19:40:02 +0000 UTCEvening guys hope you're well! It's been a bit quiet but things are happening behind the scenes. I'm waiting for the new rocker shaft bolts for the 90 and the clutch plate for the 110 still.
Also looking at getting a replacement bulkhead for the 110 and trawling eBay constantly for second hand ones. I'm thinking of buying a cheaper one, repairing it and getting it galvanised eventually. This should be cheaper than buying a galv one outright and we'll be able to film the whole process for more content.
It's easy to get carried away and buy the absolute best of everything (e.g. a £1500 bulkhead) but we'll end up with a mountain of shiny parts, no money and an unfinished 110. I'm already over budget and the 110's still sitting in the garage with no changes!
It's all good though and I'm super happy with the high quality parts that are going into the gearbox setup. After buying two flywheels that were unsuitable it's a case of third time lucky!
Remember this adaptor plate and flywheel? An early Dieselpumpuk design it weighed over 20kg and ended up not being designed for the 6 speed 'box I have
I had the flywheel lightened further and machined to fit the clutch
The adaptor kit mounted up for the first time, it didn't work and I didn't like the quality of the plate. Decided to bite the bullet and get the bellhousing welded to fit the 606
I've spoken to Rich about filming sections for the 110 build series and he's keen so we'll get started on it properly now. Obviously it'll be a long time before the 110's finished and the complete build series is released on YouTube, but would you guys like to see episodes as and when we finish them?
