Review - Focus of the Month (Feb)

The Duel Mode in GameModes has been replaced by a newer version, which brings it up to speed with the updates we've made to the underlying framework for Zombies. This newer version had some issues that had to be addressed at the end of this month:

• Lingering item drops
• Item-based teleporting out of the duel map
• Erroneous double hits are seen on the attacker's side

These are fixed. The next update for Duels will be based on the planned stages.

Trading System

This hasn't received any bugfixes or updates, only some reshuffling of DP. If it remains in the top spot for the March poll when it closes, then I will be looking into what changes are feasible. If people want to put forward anything specific to be considered, you can comment on that post with a link to the relevant suggestion.

Planned GameModes changes

As Duel is developed, we will also be replacing the GameModes area to better support both choosing a mode using warpplates as well as choosing variants using warpplates. This should hopefully better expose the available options to users.

The queue system will also be updated to better support situations where we have no more capacity to serve players but people are trying to join a mode, and to more appropriately make use of the slots that are available by forcing modes to a one-match lobby (like duel is now) instead of multi-match lobby (like zombies is now), this will better handle allocating players at peak times as well as help matchmaking be more effective overall, with the downside that players will not be guaranteed to be kept together, for this we expect there will need to be another feature for players to party/group up.

Unrelated Changes

Our main site https://dark-gaming.com is being moved as our current hosting provider has decided to close. This also affects our incoming email as they provided this feature (outgoing email is unaffected, which is what the forum uses) . This means I will be moving it soon over to our Europe server and swapping out its content for something much simpler as we no longer use its version of the forum, or accounts.
