Dev Build Update: Lumirank, Groups, Filters! (Feb 21, 2024)

Hey everyone!

The theme of this update is taking "good enough for launch" features from v1 and extending them into great features. This broadly fits into a few categories:

1. Lumirank Support
2. Groups on the Event Page
3. Filters/Settings across the app

1) Lumirank Support

We've added Lumirank rankings to the matches view so it's easy to tell when a match is vs a ranked opponent. We've also added rankings next to players on the events page and added the ability to quickly filter to just ranked players.

2) Automatic Groups on the Event Page

v1 had groups on the event page but they were limited to just the timeline tab. In this update, we extend groups to:

• Be on the bracket tab so you can quickly filter through entrants
• Automatically add groups like "Top Seeds", "Ranked", and "International"
• Remove groups that didn't attend the event (so we don't show "My Region" when no players from my region attended)
• Be defined on the backend so we can add new groups without needing to push out an app update

We've also added groups to the bracket sheet so we can sort your favorite players to the top of the bracket. This makes it really easy to keep track of your favorite players in R1 Pools.

3) Filters + Settings

Previously, we had one filter context and you got to choose between "All", "Offline", and "Majors". Now we support a global filter context with All, Offline, Online, Ranked, and Majors as well as global date based filters, which include support for filtering to specific ranking seasons.

Plus, every data view across the app has new settings for sorting + filtering down their data further.

So What's Next?

Custom player groups, updated player pages to have report cards for local/regional level players, website v1 launch, and melee. Not necessarily in that order.

How do I download the new build?

If you've already downloaded a previous Patreon build:

• iOS users go to testflight and update to the new version (0.9.2 build 8)
• Android users click on the Google Play link you originally downloaded the patreon build from and update to the new version (0.9.2 Build #8)

For new members of the Patreon:

• Go to the Smashers App discord and follow the instructions in #dev-install
• We'll get you on the new build within a day
