I dont think they are inefficient at all. I have early access to their test data - it mostly completely solid apart from they dont account for rider weight (radial load on the bearings) but the efficiency numbers stack up. It is counter intuitive, but planetary gearset efficiency actually increases with power and torque. I should have remembered that!

I love the idea of the Classified hub, super cool. I hope they can get over the bad press for being 'horribly inefficient' which while I'm sure there is some sort of a penalty, it is being overstated by the cycling media. SRAM should buy them, bring it to MTB, then gravel, then road and it'll be the new hotness by then ;-)
