Broken Eden - A new Supporter only MP server for EGS

Hello you glorious, beautiful people.

I have not built it yet, still waiting for the Exp A12 to be released for server owners so I can get started on it. The server will be available once A12 is out of Exp anyway so we have a few weeks i think.

In the meantime, I have setup some of the new channels in discord and the first draft of the server rules is available for you to read through and feedback any questions etc.

I'm sure most of this goes without saying but it needs to be on paper for those few where it doesn't.

Feel free to reply to this post with any queries or DM me on discord etc. whichever is easiest.

For those of you that do not use discord, you might find it a bit more difficult to work with some of these rules but you are more than welcome to join the server anyway and we can try to accommodate you as best we can.

As always, thank you so much for your support.

Stay frosty.

Just gave some support cash, but unfortunately as a self funded retiree I could not really afford more (which I would like to do). To give anymore would result in inadequate funds for essential beer - and I know you would not like that to happen to anybody

Dear Mr Spanj, I'm pleased to see you have such a nice new house. I hope you'll all be very happy there! Mi Kat Smudge says hi too! He's learned when I'm gaming and shooting stuff I don't like to be disturbed, but when he hears YOUR voice he knows I am sitting back passively while you do all the hard stuff - and that's when he knows he can get petted. I'm sorry to hear your computer is absent without leave - gosh, but that's hard to bear - I go nuts without mine. Perhaps a good thing though to focus on the house at the moment. I've finally got around to Patreonizing you - and you're the only person I've ever done that for (as I'm skint, coz I had a stroke, so I had to retire early), (which is why I like playing Empyrion) but I figured you deserve some kind of reward for all the hours of enjoyment and education you've given me. Truly, if it hadn't been for you, explaining things and doing open chats, I'd probably have given up eons ago on Empyrion. Please don't feel at all guilty about being offline. Not in the slightest. You could have had a hurricane or a fire or a flood or been trapped in quarantine on some distant planet. Shit happens. The amount of material you've produced will keep us going till normal service is resumed. You're not superhuman just a bloke in his man cave doing a great job and providing a great service. I'm sure we all understand that you're not simply a machine or an employee of some faceless corporation. As it happens, I am still going back over some of your old material to bring myself up to speed on stuff I'd skipped, like airtightness, etc. I watch your videos for two main reasons; One is to get tips & find out how to do stuff, so I'm delighted with your instructional presentations and the other is just for pure entertainment, watching you building or surviving. Both great ways to occupy my time. Usually it is Empyrion, but I watched some of your other stuff too, like a little Space Engineers and that thing with the moody lesbian chick that I can't remember the name of now. Oh and the volcano thing! So, stacks of stuff in the archives for all your fanj club. You take it easy, have a break and do your nest and cave building in RL and we'll be happy to welcome you back when things are all sorted out and your computer is healed again. ps. re. warranty - I always get the PC World cover "Know How"(?) because I got it years ago on a laptop which I think my wife broke because she had a hell of a temper and forced the lid shut with a pen in it which ripped out the back cable to the screen. Anyway they wrote it off and gave me a voucher for the value - which was a lot, because it was a top of the range high powered HP laptop, more powerful than some desktops at the time. Since time had moved on, I was able to get two laptops for the money, so I sold one. Later my big Apple Mac died and, again, they wrote it off, something like four years later - one week before the warranty was due to run out. Again they gave me a voucher, this time for £1400 - so I was able to replace it with a top range PC and also get a big screen and a big printer and half a camera. Nearly four years later this PC is still running - and I think I've worn out about 4 keyboards in that time, which they have replaced without question each time. If this puppy doesn't make it till March - I'll be looking for a new one. I'm not sure, but I think the quarterly payment is not too unbearable. (just been all through my bank accounts and can't determine what it is - probably some stupidly unrelated name I can't think of, but its not under know how or PC world :( So, ultimately, for my initial £1400 spend - plus the monthly warranty payments, I've had more than 8 years of the use of a top end machine, which, in my view, isn't bad and the support has been impressive too. I'm an ex computer engineer, but a wee tad out of date, but I know enough to know if they know what they're doing (or not) and I don't suffer fools gladly. I know PCWorld is not everyone's preferred supplier - but they'll do for me. There are some good local guys, but next time I need a new PC I might chat to them, because the next spend will be painful now I am not working, so every penny must count. - Yet I want what NASA's got. Right, enough waffling. Thanks again! Mr Eon.
