New and Old (2021 v 2016)
Added 2021-03-14 17:16:28 +0000 UTCI am constantly amazed by how long this comic has stuck with me. And it's really interesting to see the change in my drawing style too, though to be honest, I did not recognise it until I put the drawings next to each other.
Some of you may know that the first four chapters of Us Right Now were originally drawn in black and white. I was heavily influenced by the Japanese manga: each chapter has around 30 pages and it was meant to be read from right to left. I didn't care much about colours back then.
Even when I decided to post on Webtoon, they were still in B/W. I only started colouring them when Webtoon had this competition for Canvas creators in 2018 and I wanted to participate with Us Right Now. I got an honourable mention btw XD
Anyway!
I think the 2021 version is 'cuter' and the skin colour is warmer, though the lack of background worries me 😂😂
I want to improve in so many things (e.g. drawing environment, perspective, drawing clothes, colour theory, etc.) to level up the drawing quality of the comic but due to the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day, the progress has been slow.
Just kidding LOL.
I am happy to see an improvement no matter how small.
