Hello friends and fae ~
Here’s an exclusive process video + full-res image of one of my visual development pieces. The video is sped up to be about a minute long, but it took almost six real-time hours to complete!
Though I didn’t get to fully finish it (whatever finished even means these days…), this particular piece was originally meant to explore an early cover concept. Like much of my work, I often blend exploration and intuition—a chance to seek the aesthetics of The Mythseeker’s world.
Since I solo the art and writing of this project, I tend to work in bursts, laying down concepts, to revisit when the time (and spoons) allow. I'm guilty of starting lots of WIPs and then not finishing them, but for how I process things, it's important I get something down than not. But it can be... chaotic and based on feeling than structure (we're working on it).
Some pieces reflect themes, plot points, or design experiments—many of which may shift over time; this one in particular, the characters and scenario have changed. I'll keep mum about it in fear of spoilers!
Thanks as always for letting me share the messy magic with you.

P.S. - I'll do my best to share more process videos! I sometimes have to turn off the timelapse recordings for my painting process (large file sizes, can slow down iPad), or I forget to turn the setting back on... oops. We'll work on that!
