We couldn't agree with you more. Michonne's timing is everything.

I haven’t even finished the original with Yall but had to hop in when i saw this notification. Lol.
The hand scene was brutal. LOL! But he did lose it in the comic so it’s more of an alignment to the comic character.
Rick cutting his hand off is 5 years after the bridge exploded. The training was about 1y, maybe a little more and the building conversion was another Year. I thought it was cool how they showed the seasons changing in the window of the building conversion.
I think some of Yall questions are going to get answered in the next couple episodes.
I love the mental journey we go through with Rick in This episode. We start with him literally trying to escape and get back to his family and even cutting his hand off because he feels it’s the only way. Then we see the conflict of it as he’s trying to balance being a soldier in the CRM but also holding on to the idea of still ecaping. And ending with him hitting Rock bottom to point that he was going to end his own life. He said he couldn’t kill himself but he decided to still die. He finally let go of the idea that he would ever be able to escape and began to embrace his new future. He burned his reminders and told Okafor he was in, not going to run anymore. I loved the comparison to his father in the story. His father burned the farm to protect the family from losing it and Rick is protecting his family from being found out and killed. He’s doing what he thinks is best for them by letting them go. But right as he surrended, here comes Michonne. Since this is supposed to be their epic love story, for me, it’s like how she showed up at the prison when he finally let go of Lorie. It’s like she’s just always right there when he needs her most.
