Reflections on URN's 8th Birthday

Ahhh how time passes so quickly! Our 3rd opus URN has turned 8 years old and Tim shares some reflections on this album and some memories from that time.

What are some of of your memories of URN

Comments

Urn reminds me of the start of my journey on Patreon. I had joined just a few months before the album was released and I remember getting to see a lot of behind the scenes videos for the recording process. I also got to hear quite a bit of the album before it was released. And of course, I had pre-ordered it so I was tremendously excited to get that one in the mail. Hurricane Irma had just rolled through my neck of the woods, so I got to listen to Urn on repeat while I was doing hurricane cleanup. The 2017 headlining tour was also the first time I got to see NeO live. As for favorite songs, "Eyrie" is probably still my favorite from the album, followed very closely by the "Urn" brothers. Thanks for reminding us about Urn's birthday! It was fun to reminisce about when it came out!

Oh I have so many wonderful, meaningful memories of the process of watching this album be born behind the scenes here on Patreon! My name being in the credits is still a crowning achievement to me! And being so closely involved in the seeing “how the sausage is made” was just so, so enriching as a dedicated fan of music who appreciates the work done by musicians so deeply. Downloading the album early and pressing play in particular was an iconic moment for me. To this day, it’s my favorite NeO record and a personal favorite album altogether! Just waiting to see eyrie and urn live some day 😭😭😭. I intend for Eyrie to have a prominent place on our wedding playlist. It’s going to be the song I use to slip some metal to my non metal peers and hopefully get them to see beauty in places they don’t normally look for it
