April '25 Update: An Orchestra Performing Tadpole Treble!
Added 2025-05-01 19:00:29 +0000 UTCHi Patrons! I hope everyone’s having a good spring. It’s been kind of a stressful time for me but hopefully April showers will lead to May flowers.
An update on the BitF book is right here, so give it a look.
But I've got a few other things to talk about too!
As a guy who’s manufacturing in China, I've been closely monitoring the tariff situation. I’m curious if you’ve seen other creators and manufacturers trying to navigate the costs as well, particularly Kickstarter-based artists who already have preorders set. I’m aiming to not increase the price of anything but a few things are still up in the air in that regard.
Speaking of “up in the air,” I’ll be flying out next week to Maryland to attend something that’s a major personal milestone. As it turns out, the Baltimore Gamer Symphony Orchestra & Choir (https://baltimoregso.org) will be featuring a song from Tadpole Treble next week! That’s right, their arranger made a version of Thunder Creek to be performed by over 30 singers and 100 instrumentalists! Drop on by if you’re in the area—I’ll be attending the 2 PM show on May 10th, but there will also be an encore performance on May 16. In fact, one of the longtime Patrons here, PigDan, is the one that alerted me to this situation in the first place, and his family is helping me out while I’m there. Thanks, guys!
There’s also been an exciting unrelated development that I can’t wait to share but, alas, I can say no more about it for now. Suffice to say, even with development on BitF Ultimate Edition wrapping up soon, I’ll be keeping very busy over the course of this year. It’s strange—when I was wrapping up BitMusical, I had no real plan for 2025 but this has quickly become one of the busiest work-related times of my life. I’m feeling lucky and blessed despite some of the anxiety that comes with large projects and uncertain import situations.
Here’s a secret Switch 2 comic from the book just for the Patreon. It’s a callback 17 (!) years in the making:

Lastly, we’re still working on revamping the website but it should be ready sometime in the summer and will be great way to follow everything I’m working on.
That’s all for now! Have a merry May!

2025-05-12 19:13:48 +0000 UTCThat's exciting new, Matthew! We look forward to seeing it. As to tariff increases, I can only speak for myself but I'm happy to cover the difference on mine. It would really be a shame to see you get stuck with the bill that wasn't your fault at all.
