Declined Status

I wanted to send out a quick note as I've noticed the number of patrons showing as "declined" on billing- has once again grown beyond the double digits. 😔 I've said it before, and don't mind repeating this, I understand times are tough so please don't ever feel obligated to support me here on Patreon. Art is a luxury. I would much rather you take care of you and yours before turning the attention of your wallets over to Hinkle HQ. Honestly, if need be, I would rather you cancel your membership all together than just let it sit in endless declined status. Leaving it as such, kinda adds more of a logistical / admin burden on my side as I have to add the task of checking the backend every few days to see if things clear through for mailing rewards to you.
I want to ensure that if you are owed items (which many of the declined patrons are), that these are delivered promptly. But after the initial payment during the first week of the month, I no longer get any alerts or notifications from Patreon that folks were declined or furthermore, that they fix their billing if need be. Plus declined patrons skew the numbers and overall just makes this more complicated since they haven't cancelled their memberships. As I've said, it won't hurt my feelings if you need to bow out. I believe I offer a treasure trove of content and incentives to support me here, but if it's not within your means, I respect that! I've tried reaching out to several folks in this status by direct messages and sometimes other means if we are closer. But most messages go unanswered. Please note that any shipments of rewards will cease while you remain in declined status, but they will be held aside. Again, this adds another task to my operation as you haven't cancelled officially so I need to assume you intend to pay and get your reward(s) at some point...
Lastly, I'll likely "ban" the patrons that have now crossed 1 full year in declined status. As I mentioned, it just skews the numbers and makes things more complicated on my end. I think an entire year of being informed of an issue with your billing is more than fair. Removing you entirely from the backend will clean things up for me, and this is really the only tool at my disposal with you not cancelling your membership or responding to my repeated messages.
Patreon typically takes about a week to run through all the billing, as soon as I get the email that it's been done- I'll get the October gifts out to you all!
