Life as an Instrument Maker

This autumn has been a whirlwind of concerts, keeping me busy and fulfilled.
Currently, I’m spending a week in Sweden, learning the craft of whistle making from Gunnar Stenmark, a master of wooden whistles. My very first whistle, made from spruce wood in the key of A, turned out beautifully, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
This winter, I plan to spend my time crafting whistles in my workshop in Japan. Life as a musician and life as an instrument maker are entirely different paths, and I’m thrilled to be at this turning point in my journey.
On a different note, the Finale software issue that had been troubling me since October has been resolved. Going forward, I’ll return to my usual schedule of creating Irish music lesson videos and bonus downloads for Patreon. I sincerely appreciate your continued support as I embark on this new chapter.
「楽器職人としての人生」
Patreonサポーターの皆さん、スウェーデンからご挨拶申し上げます。この秋はたくさんのコンサートでとても忙しく充実していました。
今回はスウェーデンに1週間滞在して、木製ホイッスル職人のGunnar Stenmarkさんのもとでホイッスル製作を学びました。初めてのホイッスルは、スプルース材のA管でした。とても素晴らしい楽器で、満足しています。 今後は日本の工房で冬の間はホイッスルを製作してすごすことになります。
音楽家としての人生と、楽器制作者としての人生は全くことなるものです。この人生の節目を迎えたことを嬉しく思います。
10月から悩まされていた楽譜ソフトFinaleの問題は改善しました。今後は通常の製作スケジュールでアイルランド音楽のレッスン動画とPatreonのボーナスダウンロードを製作していきますので、引き続きご支援をお願いいたします。
