Weekly Standup 60 & 61

("stand-up" is a term I borrowed from software dev circles - this is a short report on what I've been doing and what I'm planning, intended to keep my supporters aggressively up-to-date. This is not a typical dev blog post.)

Welp, I'm late with the standup again, so here's two weeks worth of it - at least I wrote down what I did on each day, so I can do a daily breakdown again. As I've previously stated in the interests of full disclosure for anyone interested in supporting, I have some issues with mental health, and occasionally run into periods that are less than extremely productive - such as the last two weeks. I still got a bunch of stuff done, though, and I'm trying to stay positive about the future. :)

However, I had a very specific reason for skipping the last Sunday I was supposed to do a standup, as explained in the daily breakdown.

TL;DR:

Things I got done over the last two weeks: I implemented the focus of this update, Ari's new tension system. This will be the mechanic through which rubbing her off (like the capstone scene of v.0.11) is accessed as a repeating scene. I also finished implementing the clothing changing menu. I also wrote a lot of fluff text for traits/clothing sets and fixed a lot of bugs.

Things I want to get done next week: Implementing and testing all of the scenes accessed by the new tension system, figuring out some technical stuff regarding rubbing Ari off in existing h-scenes. Lots of testing. Also, some illustration. Also, possibly implementing ruined orgasms for Ari (maybe that will be a v.0.14 thing though?). If I get all of those things done next week, then the week after that will be final testing before release.

Monday - Programming: planned out and started implementing new tension system for Ari.

Tuesday - Programming: turns out that the existing royal outfit absolutely does not work with the changes I've made to h-scenes. I had to nearly completely start over with the programming part of that outfit (all of the artwork was already there tho)

Wednesday - Programming: Finished implementing new tensions system for Ari. I actually spent most of the day writing fluff text for it (eg. trait descriptions)

Thursday - Slow day, did some bugfixing and editorial work. Added a few new fluff traits - eg. the game now tracks if Ari has ever got off / if all of her orgasms have been premature or ruined.

Friday & Saturday - Days off.

Sunday - Unplanned extra day off: I got the news that one of my lil' rat boys had unexpectedly passed away. :( RIP, little guy.

Monday - Programming: Fixing bugs in unique scenes that were caused by h-scene changes.

Tuesday - Programming: Finished up all of the work I had previously done with the outfit selection screen. It is now functionally ready (at least as far as v.0.13 is concerned), but I'm gonna need to make icons for the outfits.

Wednesday & Thursday - Programming: Bugfixes, so many bugfixes. Under 'bugfixes' I also include changes to game rules I had to make in order to fit in the tension system (eg. Ari's 💦 now drops to 0 after a punishment at early ♥ levels). Automated tests now return OK on both paths.

Friday - Slow day, did little bits of low-priority work that needed doing, like refactoring problematic code in the automated tests.

Saturday & Sunday - Days off.
