***this comment contains spoilers for the chapter*** You've truly outdone yourself with this last chapter. The first half with Chona and Tinvel was excellent, advancing their personal arcs, building their characterisation, and laying groundwork for their developing relationship, all while taking us through an intensely satisfying dogfight, despite being only a brief mock battle, and following it up with a lovely display of each character's ingenuity and even a lovely bit of exploring the nature of this world's magic system. You accomplish so much in that section in a smooth and engaging way. It's just damned good storytelling. The second part is solid characterisation as well and quite well written. It's also incredibly hot. I almost needed to keep myself quiet as I read it.
