November Update

Hello magnificent Patrons! Unfortunately, I overestimated my ability to not get COVID and completely forgot Thanksgiving is this month. This made the month have almost 2 weeks less of time than I planned for, so the video isn't going to be done this month (I guess I lied!). 

Those aren't the only reasons; the video's scope has grown quite a bit since last month when I expected it to be done this month. I probably should learn my lesson and not give timeframes, but I have no doubt that it'll be out in December. I've been working on it every chance I get. The script is so close to being done which means I can record the voiceover soon and get to editing. It has reached the point where the video basically has an entire series retrospective as one of the through-lines. There's just so many things to talk about and I want this to be a definitive Splatoon video, so I'm not letting myself scale back. There is so much in here, it's really dense, I'm really happy with it. It's equally for people who are diehard fans of the series and those who have never played a shooter before, so if you're someone who is mostly big on JRPGs (like most of my videos), I think it'll still be enjoyable. The writing of this video itself has almost been its own journey for me because I feel like I've fallen in love with Splatoon all over again. It'll be ~30-40 minutes long, and the Patreon cut will be ~35-45 minutes. 

To give you all some slice of content, the attached video is a musical montage from the series that is included in the music section to show what the diversity of the games' music looks like. (Patreon has direct uploading now, that's great! Now I can upload the early access directly on here without dealing with unlisted YouTube links.) It's fun seeing slices of a bunch of the soundtrack right next to each other, especially with the contrast between octo honk noises next to stunning instrumental and lyrical talent–even I was surprised by some of the songs. 

If you're in a place where Thanksgiving is celebrated, Happy Thanksgiving! If not, happy one week until Splatoon 3 Season 2! I will sit down to enjoy it when the video is done. (And when I get a chair.)

The next video is going to be big in complexity but hopefully not length. It'll take me some time to play all the games I need to and do the needed research, so I won't try to predict when it'll be done this time! It'll be done when it's done. :)
