I took July to not work and do things I like to relax after finishing the first draft of book 3. Those relaxing activities included starting on the next draft anyway and coming up with things I wanna do this month. Such is the way of a writing type guy, I guess?
Anyhow, here's a post where I talk about those things I thought about and did last month.
I spent a lot of last month making things for to other people. I did a couple (2! (two more than last year!)) art fights and made an animation I still gotta finish as a birthday present. Here that is btw.
I'll upload the full one on da' channel once I finish it later this week.
On to things relating to the project this Patreon is actually about, I started on the next draft of book 3. Should be done much faster than the first as it mainly entails me rereading it and editing things so they're better.
I won't be uploading every chapter as I edit them, but I will put the new version up early as a treat for you guys and for preservation of the crappy versions of my craft. Future generations must know I didn't birth books as fully-formed sick nasty 4 real specimens on the first try.
Speaking of treats and this Patreon, the last thing I was thinking about over the week was a new tier for donors. I wanna try out a merch club where I have small batches of goodies made and then send them out to members of that tier. Nothing big like statues or figures, but stuff like acrylic standees and keychains, enamel pins, prints, wall scrolls, and shirts. Artist alley type things.
Maybe eventually I can get figures 3D printed and then painstakingly hand paint them for you to look at and go “cool.” but for now I'll settle on little things you can look at and go “neat.”
Of course because of the price of manufacturing, shipping, and commissions, it will be a higher tier and probably around $15-20 USD for at first when I'm doing simple things and maybe a later higher tier when I can start making more elaborate things. Members vote on and pitch ideas for things they'd like for merch club projects as well as choose what version of the products they’d like to get and what characters or subjects are included. To have it start with momentum, I’ll probably do acrylic standees and/or stickers using the character sheet key art and commission new artwork with what I earn from the new tier.
Also this month, I'll be aiming to have the audiobook chapters edited,l and put up here. I'll need you all to tell me if my mumbling is good enough to compete with all the books by grifters who paid other grifter three hundred dollars to be told audible was the best way to make passive income maybe if you're really lucky but actually probably not.
