The eve of the rising hare - A Christmas Carol

With the upcoming release of the White Site: Book 2 of the Dark Christmas Saga, I have put together another Christmas Carol to help frame what is about to happen towards the end of Part II.

I hope that you can hear the music playing as I did when Dominic and 2200 hundred of his allies sang this:

On the eve when the snow sighs soft on the hills,

And the bells of the North grow still,

The sleepers dream of dawn's first flame,

While the hare of the moon prepares his claim

Let your hearts, your realms entwined,

From the Christmas star to the Easter sign,

Though winter whispers cold despair,

Hope yet kindles, bright and fair.

From the land of sleep, where the dreamers dwell,

Came the watch of protectors, calm and fell;

And the lights of Yule, with crimson gleam,

March forth beside the lunar beam.

Let your hearts, your realms entwined,

From the Christmas star to the Easter sign,

Though winter whispers cold despair,

Hope yet kindles, bright and fair.

The Moon's blade sang through the night,

Guarding rebirth with silver light;

While from the north, a shadow crept,

Where front hearts in silence slept.

But courage grows where kindness stands,

And faith is forged by mortal hands;

For gifts and dreams and dawns new bloom

Shall scatter winters encircling gloom.

Lift your hearts, your realms entwined,

From Christmas star to Easter’s sign.

Thought fate is veiled and storms impair,

Hope shall rise, and the Moon’s own prayer.
