Patreon Update Time - Captain Jack (August 2020)

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well and staying safe right now! Remember to wash those hands and wear a mask please ;) I've actually just had some "Captain Jack Face Masks" made, so if you see a bloke wearing one in the UK, 50% chance it will be me.... or someone I give them too (if the Staff are lucky :3 )

Anyway, I wanted to hop on today and update you, my Patreons on a few things, including YouTube Content (and Twitch), the Supporter Server and a few things I am working on for the future, as well as an explanation of what's been going on the last few months.

-- The Past Month (or Two) --

You may have noticed that I have been somewhat MIA in the last month or two, mainly absent from creating and uploading YouTube content. As originally explained HERE, I have been taking a small on and off-break for the sake of mental health. - At some point, I may explore that topic publically in a future video or social post, but for now, I'll leave you with that.

Mental health is important, and establishing limits for content creators like me is important. You may notice that from now on i will be more distant and not "obsessing" over constantly uploading every day of the week, more taking the time to properly develop and take my time with YouTube and Twitch content.

I'll keep you updated on that one, but thanks for everyone's understanding!

-- The Supporter Server --

The Colony LOST Supporter Server has been going for some time now. I'm actually in the progress of filming a Server Tour video for that, so please go to Discord and drop me your base details to be featured in that.

Going forward, as many of you have asked, I and the Community Moderation team are now looking into our "next theme" for what the server will entail. We've got a few ideas, and I'll be sharing them with you in a few weeks as we enter September. Events for the Colony Lost server will continue, for now, so keep enjoying them, but in the next few weeks, you'll also see some details on how we plan to end the server.

No ASAP rush, but just be prepared that we'll want to wind down the server! Start your engines and battleships ladies and other invited genders (that's a Halo joke btw xx)

-- New Content --

Moving forward for the remainder of 2020 (thank fuck!), I plan on pivoting content ever so slightly. It's obvious by now that Space Engineers: Colony LOST is winding down as we approach the end of the series. I'm planning to focus on Starbase, Dual Universe, Star Citizen along with Space Engineers... can't leave that one just yet ;)

Space Engineers will continue, with a special video project that I have coming up soon, so keep an eye out for that, most likely on September 5th.  Colony LOST will be the last major Colony series for now, as I would like to work on an additional series project which is either going to be back to the basics of survival, or an in-depth Red Wood cinematic story set somewhere out in the final frontier ;)

Twitch streams are slowly but surely returning, so make sure you're following my page over there, as I'll be exploring some new games on there soon. The likes of Dual Universe and Starbase fit streaming more than video content really well, given they are MMO types of video games. If you're interested in hearing more, I'll be talking about these games next week on the YouTube channel.

-- Wrapping up! --

Alright everyone, thanks for tuning in on this little update.

To end it off, I would like some feedback on how you think i an improve your Patreon Experience. For starters, Patreon has allowed me to activate "Annual Memberships", so if any of you think my ass is worth supporting for one whole year upfront, you can check that out and get a cheeky 15% discount! (Thanks to those who have supported and continue to for way longer!)

Thanks all, stay safe & well!
- Jack

Your mental health is very important Captain! I am glad you are taking steps to improve it. If you ever need to rant to a stranger (I've found it helpful in the past, a friend has assumptions and expectations and that can a wall when talking about mental health, or one can feel like a burden) you can always shoot it my way to get it off your chest. I don't honestly know about anyone else, but I'm happy with the patreon updates the way you do them, maybe a blooper or two if you find them, but i'm just learning how difficult it can be to coordinate different perspectives, so no pressure on that. Maybe a little bit about any tips you have for editing your cinematics? if you have the time. I hope you stay safe and well Captain!
