Feedback Time! - Space Engineers: Supporter Server

Hi all,


I hope everyone is doing well and is enjoying "The Expanse" server so far! We're about one week into this server iteration and I thought it would be a great time to get some feedback on what you all think so far.

Specifically, I am looking for feedback on the current Mods, Block Limits, and the first community event. While we're not looking at adding any new mods this week, as first, we would like to refine the current ones, I welcome any suggestions for future weeks.

Regarding "Build and Repair" that many won't, that will come in about 2-3 weeks with a special event, to make it more fun and challenging for everyone. More on this soon!

Upcoming Changes:

These upcoming changes have already been planned by the staff and once we have some feedback from yourselves, we will add to the change list for the server.

- Refine Block Limits

- Adjust Mod Settings

- Increase Current Weapon Limits

These are our only planned changes so far, don't worry, we're not planning on decreasing anything, more so just tweaking the block limits to reflect server performance following the last week.

When It does come time to consider mods.....tiered tools please sir. ....or at least the more powerful welders. All else is running well. Thanks Jack. Actually on that note...more powerful version of performance hitting blocks would allow low block limits on the server. Things like that would probably be good all around.

all running good so far could use 2 projectors increase programable blocks refinerys and assemblers but mostly increase drills and maybe add the passages and corridors mod it has airlocks and conveyers, air vents etc built into them and the twin welders and twin grinders mods would be awesome.

So far I am enoying the new server. As far as block limits for me it would be additional O2/H2 generators. Especially as the Epstein drive is hydro powered. While additional Programmable blocks would be nice, I understand how those can adversely effect the server.

Only request I have is a upgraded limit on welders and grinders, other then that, things have gone pretty well and this server is alive

Hope you and the Team are all doing well Jack. At present i have no complaints about the current build of the server. The event was fun and interesting if a little short from my side but that was down to being the jam in an OPA sandwich. Sim speed seems to be generally good but there is definitely something that occasionally hits performance. e.g. an hour yesterday afternoon when there weren't that many people on but the server nearly ground to a halt on sim speed. As to changes already suggested by people. I Don't feel we need more rail-guns i know that bob and his team mate popped at least one of the Opa ships if not two? with what they had. we had some on the Breaker but never really got to use them and i think too many will have a negative affect on the types of ships people build and their sizes. i wont comment on program blocks as i am not yet experienced enough to have made any use of them. but id Keep projectors as they are too If there is one on a ship your making then its not hard to modify the BP in creative or just live with the alert until the rest of the build is done. a solo player doesn't need more than 1 and once you have 2 or more people you no longer have an issue. ill cut it there for now Keep up the great work all.

Hey Jack , so far so good, had a couple of drops in sim speed but overall compared to pretty much every other sever its been good, block limits has been a small issue mostly with projectors and program blocks, is it possible to up projectors from one to 4, but even 2 or 3 would be extremely useful, and can u up program blocks from 1 to 2 at least as it can be hard to try and build half the ship i want because most require at least 2 program blocks to work effectively, and as phyrefox said an airlock mod like the rotary airlock as it is a useful and stable mod and the larger airlock doors mod for storing larger ships underground, overall though its a great server and me and my faction members are having fun, so cheers for running this server.

Hello Jack. :) So far I've had a pretty good time on the server. I've only seen a few small instances of persistant sim speed slowdown, though I do not know what from. Overall preformance has been pretty good. Block limits... I would appreciate if we could bump up the refinery/assembler count from 3 to 4 because, well, having an odd number means I can't even them in my ship design and it's driving me nuts. XD Perhap up projectors to 2? So that when you project in a ship to build that has a projector in it there isn't an issue. As for mods, I would definately love to see the inclusion of the Rotary Airlocks mod in lieu of ncot having more than 1 program block and needing to make airtight spaces. Secondly I feel weird saying this but... I think we have far too much power gen. In The Expanse having a railgun on a ship seems to be a pretty major deal in terms of energy usage where ships like frigates and destroyers only seem to be able to handle one; but right now we have up to 30 gigawatt powerplants that could support up to 150 railgun that can fit easily into a small large block ship. Perhaps it could be limited to the first one or two levels of Deuterium fusion reactors (as to not totally negage the time and effort people have already spent in refining deuterium and building ships around the fusion reactor form factor). That's all I got for now. Thanks for running this server. :)

Despite the performance issues (lag) that may just be on my end, I think the server is very successful. The first event went very well even though I was unable to participate due to being attacked a lot. Despite this setback I cannot help but enjoy my time among friends.
