Although it was not his work that directly introduced me to drawing, he has always been a great influence and a mentor of sorts to all the artists who have come across his work.
My late father was a big fan of his work, especially Dr. Slump, and he is the reason I became a fan of manga and anime. Dragon Ball has been a part of my life since I was a kid; I don't know anyone my age who hasn't tried to do a "Kamehameha" at least once. His legacy and what he has taught us as artists will live on for centuries to come.
Rest in peace, Akira Toriyama Sensei.
