Bad News, I'm Afraid.

As much as I hate doing so, I see little choice but to suspend operations on the Mouse King project for the time being. Recent life changes have dramatically reduced the amount of time I have available to spend on side projects like this and the amount of work I've been able to get done over the past month just isn't enough to justify asking people to pay for it. Initially I thought things would ramp up more gradually and so I could afford a 6-12 month runway dedicated to existing stories, but that looks less realistic with every week that passes and I expect to be out of commission too long to try and do month by month refunds.

As to what this means for everyone, there are a few quick points to go over. First, the schedule. At the moment I intend to suspend but not completely shut down the account on the last day of this month. As I understand it, there is an option within Patreon which allows the account to stay up and keeps the membership roll intact but discontinues all payments until the account is reactivated. Doing so leaves open the option to pick things up again if/when my personal situation allows and so I see it as the best option.

Equally importantly is what you can expect moving forward. Since I have several projects that are reasonably close to being ready for release and fees have been accepted for a month or two since the last significant release my intention is to record a list of the email for everyone who has paid in May and/or June of this year, continue working on those projects as time allows, and then distribute them to you all via email. My goal is to get two medium sized stories that are fairly far along completed to normal standards and then appraise my other works in progress and see if there are any that I can get to a point where they are complete in a rough draft stage of development to release as well. Unfortunately, I can't put a precise timeline on how long I expect any of that to take however.

Finally, there is the question of the non-immediate future. At this point, I simply can't predict far enough into the future to know whether or not I'll be able to resume operations. I'm hopeful that I'll at least be able to resume working at half productivity with lower fees so as to continue/complete a few projects that are in the works, but at this point all I can say is that the soonest that would happen is the start of next year. The coming months will be as busy with work as any I remember, and my sister's wedding in December is going to make the holiday season even more chaotic than normal.

For now, I don't think there's much else to say. You all have been wonderful and I really, really appreciate your support over the past year and change so I hope we'll be able to do it again some day, but for now I've got to hit the road. Figuratively and, more often than not, literally.

Cheers,

Anon
