Snapmaking 2.0 unboxing and setup - Behind the scenes

Dear Patrons,

This week on working on a 3018 CNC upgrade video but I've also commenced work on the Snapmaker 2.0 review. This is the A350 model, top of the range and so far I'm stupidly impressed. As far as a polished, nice to look at and pleasure to use piece of tech goes, it's as good as any product I've ever used in my life. So far the only down sides are a heated bed that's slow to heat up and it's a bit noisy (loud fans and non silent stepper motor drivers). Everything else is drool worthy, but as the video shows this comes with a healthy price tag.

Diode laser really struggle compared to CO2. Now that I have a CO2 Chinese laser I can't imagine going back to a diode. This one is labelled 1600ma so it should be able to engrave ok, but I'm guessing cutting will be limited.

I'm looking forward to seeing the full review. Too expensive for myself, it always like to see new products.

Yup. Jack of all trades. Master of none. Still, for very light duty work I could see some people having a use for a multitasker.

Gotta tell you, i have the 1.0, and it is worn out after only aboout 6 months of use. The racks got real sloppy snd i cannot get a good print out of it. Bought the " laser cutter" with it, and it would barely cut cardstock. Very low power. I did upgrade the 200mw engraver to a 500mw laser, and can do a little engraving now. Bought a k40 and an ender 3pro for less than i spent on the snapper. Would not recommend it. Mine was 750, that one is probably 1500. And i did spend an extra 130 on the separate laser cutter, which was supposed to be 2watt, but i dont think it is. Its been shelved for about a year now, eventually ill tear it apart and see if i can fix it

I think changing between the modes won't be fast at all. But it seems like there is every chance each mode will work well. Eg. ABL for FDM, camera to align laser work, proper collet and poil board for CNC.

I'm always skeptical of multi-function "X in 1" machines. Very interested to see your review.

Bill Karkula

Certainly a very nice looking machine. Now the question is can I justify buying one. lol. I will wait for all your reviews on the machine first. Keep up the great work Michael

Been drooling.

Wow that build quality looks amazing. But that price point is quite high. Really looking forward to the videos on the cnc and laser functions.
