Adding my voice to the small chorus of people who have known someone called Kip in real life.

To each its own I guess. This show has emotionally impacted many, many lives. Is love, romance, empathy, human connection less important than what you get in other TV shows like Breaking Bad? Romance tends to be considered a "lesser" genre. I don't think that's the case at all and if SO many people have been feeling this emotional connection with the show this is telling you something. We need love, we need hope, especially when it comes to queer people and especially in the darker times we're living right now. You might not "get" what the fuss is about and I understand. Not everyone likes the same things. But I don't think it's OK to diminish the quality of this series just because you don't "feel" it should be compared to other TV shows. Just my point of view 👀.

I honestly find this show kind of cheesy. I guess the high rate on IMDb is because is about guys? I find it very unfortunate. I thought we were over that…I found hunter story a little more interesting than the Shane illya. Also good music and good bodies…not too much to say about this show that has a similar rate to breaking bad and above severance….honestly it doesn’t make any sense

My husband's little sister couldn't say Christopher saying Kipper instead.

"how all men are so ripped?" Lol, i remember seeing question: why Kip looks like athlete?
And some gay dude answered: do you know how "competitive" gay scene in NYC? 😂 Ofc he is ripped)

I wonder if they revisit Kip in next season because of other character I don't want to spoil, and add onto his character, cause many of his motivations and problems were missed here

I saw one comment about the show which stood out for me: i felt safe watching this show. It refreshingly doesn't have any misogyny (apart from brother calling Svetlana "whore). It is romance that doesn't objectify women in mysogynistic way
I parahrased surely, but it made me think, that yes, this show feels safe

Sorry to comment again, but I'm watching in chunks and I just got to you talking about the gallery scene and i'm having FEELINGS.
I think part of what makes 'famous people in the closet' stories so compelling for many queer people is that, like you were kind of saying, even for normal people being in the closet is a terrifying and confusing experience. The fear of being found out because of a look or a misplaced word can make you feel like you are trapped under a magnifying glass. For non-famous queer people that generally isn't actually happening, but it still feels that way, and it can be frustrating when people invalidate the pain of that paranoia because 'oh it's 2026 the world is different now, they should just come out', . When we watch closeted celebrity romances though, we see there is a grain of truth to that paranoia - they feel like they're constantly being watched and judged by people who could destroy their lives by outing them because they actually are - their feelings of being crushed under the lens of a microscope as it zooms in feel more understandable and more tangible, and I think that makes these closeted celebrity story-lines feel very validating to people who have been trapped in the paranoia of the closet. I really appreciate you recognizing that its a terrifying circumstance for any queer person, not just ones in the public eye.

You yap as much as you want sir! I love that you pause and give commentary, not every one will but you do what you enjoy and the right people will become your audience. Nice noticing how Scott and Kip are a good parallel and an intentional comparison in how they communicate as a couple. Thanks again for the insight!
